Twitch: Live Streaming

This is a broadcasting app for gamers. Anyone can broadcast or stream live video of a user playing a game. Each broadcast room contains a public chat where users can communicate with strangers, view their profile, and send "whispers" (private messages. This app connects children with strangers on a platform where they can chat, private message, share video of themselves or broadcast live to the public. This app puts children at risk for sexting, sharing adult content, bullying, and meeting strangers online. The games being played may expose your child to intense violence, profanity, sexually suggestive themes and/or drug references. Parents should know if a child under 18 has this app and no child under 15 should use this app at all.
This app is not just for playing games. It is a social network which allows children to broadcast live video of themselves publicly. The functions of this app can have very dangerous consequences for children. If you are going to allow your child to use this app, it is important to speak to them about how to use it in a safe and responsible manner. They should never share private information with anyone they do not know in real life. Please visit our Parent's Guides section for more information on how to talk to your child about the risks involved with this app.
