ROBLOX is a popular gaming app with an extremely large library of user-generated games built on the ROBLOX engine. The content within this app is unrated and largely unregulated. The chat feature on this app has recently been used by adults to groom minors (see below for related article). Adult users have been using virtual rooms to talk to children about sex and invite them into their "bedroom" to perform virtual sexual acts. Any user can create an anonymous account and pretend to be any age, chat with your child, and start an inappropriate conversation. This app has unregulated chatrooms where your child can have conversations with strangers. No child under 18 should use have this app without a parent knowing.

Any app with chat or private messaging poses a potential threat to your child’s safety, even if social functions are only included as secondary features. Unfortunately, Roblox is an app where predators easily contact minors and groom them into exploitative relationships. With other users able to message your child, bullying and predatory behavior are real concerns.
