Battle Islands

This is a battle simulation game that will expose your child to mild violence. It also contains social features that will expose your child to the risks of sexting, bullying, and meeting strangers. The object is the game is to build a base and infantry to defeat enemies in WWII style battle. There is no blood or gore but there is frequent intense cartoon violence including shooting and killing opponents. Upon finishing the tutorial, players have access to the global chat by clicking the 2-way radio icon on the right side of the screen. They can also join an alliance immediately and a chat for this group will appear under the "alliance" tab on the chat screen. While reviewing this game we saw some bullying and profanity in the chats. Players in alliances can easily form relationships and move conversations to another platform for more privacy. This app connects children with strangers in a group chat setting. No child under 18 should have this app without a parent knowing. No child under 12 should use this app at all.
Some freemium games require users to reach a certain level before they are allowed to communicate with other players but this one allows users access to chat immediately upon finishing a very brief tutorial. This means your child will be exposed to the risks of meeting strangers, sexting, and bullying before they even start to play this game. If you choose to allow your child to have this app on their device it is important to discuss how to practice safety and be responsible while using it. They should know to never share their private information with strangers, including their usernames on other social platforms. Please visit our Parent's Guides for more information.
